Parañaque Integrated Terminal Exchange (PITX)

The Parañaque Integrated Terminal Exchange (PITX) is a transportation hub located in Parañaque City, Philippines. It serves as a central terminal for various modes of public transportation, including buses, jeepneys, and vans, aiming to decongest traffic in Metro Manila and improve the overall efficiency of the transport system.

PITX was inaugurated on November 5, 2018, and it covers a total area of 4.5 hectares. The terminal features modern facilities and amenities to provide convenience to passengers. It has multiple levels, including a ground level for buses, vans, and taxis, as well as upper levels for passenger waiting areas, ticketing booths, retail spaces, and dining establishments.

One of the key objectives of PITX is to integrate different modes of transportation, providing a seamless transfer between buses, jeepneys, and other vehicles. The terminal employs a “one-stop-shop” approach, where passengers can easily transfer from one mode of transport to another, reducing the need for multiple transfers and improving the overall travel experience.

PITX also incorporates various sustainability features, such as rainwater harvesting systems, solar panels, and natural ventilation, aiming to minimize its environmental impact.

Since its opening, PITX has become an important transportation hub in the southern part of Metro Manila. It serves as a gateway for commuters traveling to and from the Cavite province, providing a more organized and efficient transportation system for the region.

Overall, the Parañaque Integrated Terminal Exchange plays a crucial role in improving the connectivity and transportation infrastructure in Metro Manila. By integrating various modes of transport and providing modern facilities, it aims to enhance the commuting experience for passengers and contribute to the development of a more efficient and sustainable transport system.
